SUBMITTED MEDIA REVIEW

The photographs a claim rests on.

Claims are paid on submitted images. We review that material for provenance, integrity, and internal consistency, and report what each finding supports — including when it supports nothing.

INTAKE

Preserving provenance at intake

The strongest point to protect evidence is the moment it arrives. We advise on first-notice capture practice so provenance survives the intake process instead of being stripped by it.

WHY IT MATTERS

Why it matters

Screenshots, re-encoding, and messaging apps routinely remove the data that makes an image provable. Once it is gone, no later analysis recovers it.

What provenance data can and cannot tell you

Some cameras and phones now attach a signed record of an image's origin. Most do not. The absence of that record is not evidence that an image is fake — it usually means the device never wrote one.

And a record that is present proves provenance and integrity, not truth. It can establish that a file has not been altered since capture. It cannot establish that the loss happened, happened then, or happened there. We report both sides of that line.

WHAT WE DO NOT DO

  • Publish or rely on a detection accuracy rate.
  • Declare an item authentic or fabricated where the evidence supports neither.
  • Draw conclusions outside the scope of the engagement.
  • Guarantee admissibility.

CONTROLLED INTAKE

Discuss the assignment without transmitting sensitive evidence.

Public consultation channels are for business-purpose intake only. Claim files, medical records, credentials, claimant-identifying data, and evidence belong in an approved secure workflow.
