SERVICES

What we handle

SIU Investigations

Complex claims, resolved on evidence.

Special investigations for carriers, TPAs, and self-insured programs — organised activity, suspected staged losses, and the files a routine assignment could not close. On SIU engagements, investigative and claims functions are staffed separately.

Insurance & Claims Investigations

The facts the file is missing.

Coverage, liability, and causation fact-development for carriers, TPAs, self-insured programs, and counsel.

Explore →

Compensability Investigations

Was it work-related?

AOE/COE and compensability fact-development — developing the record on how, when, and where an injury occurred, and what the available evidence supports.

Explore →

Surveillance & Activity Checks

Documented activity, documented method.

Activity documentation conducted from lawful vantage, logged continuously, and delivered complete rather than as selected clips.

Explore →

Recorded Statements

On the record, with consent.

Recorded statements from claimants, insureds, and witnesses — taken with recorded consent from every party, in every jurisdiction.

Explore →

Benefit Recipient Verification

Verification without intrusion.

Confirming that a benefit recipient is living, correctly identified, and receiving the benefit — without collecting more about them than the purpose requires.

Explore →

Medical Canvassing

Authorization first, or no provider contact.

A narrow treatment-existence canvass built around validated authority, minimum-necessary scope, excluded facility categories, and honest indeterminate results.

Explore →

Scene Investigation

Document the scene before it changes.

A scene service focused on conditions, geometry, imagery, notes, measurements, and preservation-aware documentation—separate from witness canvassing and its different legal controls.

Explore →

Scene & Neighborhood Canvass

Find the witnesses before the record disappears.

A separately scoped witness-and-camera canvass with identification discipline, announced recording, corroboration controls, and rapid preservation requests for volatile third-party video.

Explore →

Scene Investigation + Canvass Dispatch

One dispatch, two controlled scopes.

Same-dispatch scene documentation and canvass coordination with separate scopes, separate controls, and one evidence spine.

Explore →

Matter-Attached Locates

Locating a party to an open matter.

Locates performed as part of an existing claim or litigation file, with the permitted purpose documented for every search.

Explore →

Aerial Documentation

Aerial documentation of property and scene.

FAA Part 107 aerial documentation for property, scene, and loss work — used to document places, not to observe people.

MODLAN STANDARDS

One standard across every service

These apply to every engagement, in every jurisdiction.

  • Recorded consent, everywhereWe obtain recorded consent from every party to every recorded statement, in every jurisdiction, regardless of which state rule applies.
  • Lawful vantageObservation is conducted from publicly accessible vantage points. We do not enter private property, observe into areas where privacy is reasonably expected, or place concealed or unattended recording devices.
  • No pretextInvestigators identify themselves where identification is appropriate. We do not use fictitious identities, misrepresent our purpose, or obtain information under false pretences.
  • Documented permissible useInformation from restricted sources is accessed only for the permitted purpose of the matter it was obtained for, and that purpose is documented for every search.
  • Represented partiesWhere a party is represented, we proceed only on documented instruction from counsel.
  • Aerial for property, not peopleAerial documentation is used for property, scene, and loss documentation. We do not use aircraft to observe individuals.
  • Public sources, unauthenticatedDigital collection is performed from publicly accessible sources without logging in to any account.

YOUR GUIDELINESScope, coverage, reporting format, documentation requirements, and turnaround are performed to your guidelines and the assignment instructions for each matter. Requirements differ by carrier and by jurisdiction, and we work to yours.

EVIDENCE DISCIPLINE

Findings stay tied to their source.

MODLAN separates what was observed, what was obtained, what was analyzed, what supports the claim, and what remains unestablished so the record can be reviewed later without reconstructing the method from memory.

FIELD SERVICES · V100

Separate the scene, the witness, and the record.

MODLAN now exposes separate operating surfaces for physical scene documentation, neighborhood/camera canvass, authorization-first medical canvassing, and recorded statements so each service keeps the legal controls that actually govern it.
